For this, the authorities had to create a programme for the protection of this wonderful city. If before the end of this year, no action will be taken, the attraction will be excluded from the world heritage list.
This Monday, Italian authorities have already put his signature on the agreement with UNESCO. It talks about the necessity to establish a buffer zone around the perimeter of the ancient city, as well as the establishment of surveillance cameras, at least half of the complex.
The European Commission in March this year gave 105 million euros for the restoration of the complex. The same amount from the budget of Italy were to allocate power. It turns out that these huge sums are simply necessary for the preservation of the historical monument, as due to the proximity of Vesuvius, the walls of old houses and buildings began to collapse.
Meanwhile, the Italian authorities had taken the time to invest in a monument and a world heritage site. The first warning they had been sentenced in July, but no change again followed. Now local authorities have much to hurry to catch to adhere strictly to the deadline.
