Parks Invited To Sapporo Lilac Festival
May 16, parks in Sapporo will open the annual lilac festival. Until June 1, locals and all the tourists will be able to become a part of this wonderful holiday. Note that this festival is a symbol of the beginning of the summer. Additionally, the lilac flower in 1960 and became a symbol of Sapporo.
On the opening day of the festival at Odori Park everyone can free to take a keepsake lilac seedling. Recall that blooms here about 400 lilac bushes. For two weeks, the tourists and locals can enjoy live music, a tasting of local wines and traditional dishes of Hokkaido, tea ceremonies outdoors.
Park Kawashima offers festival-walking in really lilac forest, offering guided tours and workshops on ikebana of lilac. Anyone tourist or local resident will be able to participate in the contest for the best photo of the lilac flower.
Lilacs for the Japanese, is a real symbol of innocence, when it comes to white flower, and first love, if you mean the purple flower. Therefore, the annual festival is a tribute to the traditions and livelihoods, and a way to attract tourists.
