The Finnish nature centre opens near Helsinki
In the national Park of Finland Nuuksio, located near Helsinki, 31 may 2013 will open the unique Finnish nature centre Haltia. It presents all the necessary practical information about recreation opportunities in the Finnish nature. In the nature center will have a variety of permanent and temporary exhibitions telling about the reserves. It also features meeting rooms, cafes and restaurants.
According to city portal Helsinki, environmental focus of the center was determined at the design stage. Haltia is the only Finnish public building, completely made of wooden elements. Using the latest technology allows the complex to independently develop a significant portion of its electricity.
The natural Park of the Finnish nature centre Haltia is located within the national Park of Finland Nuuksio, 15 kilometres from Espoo, every year about 200 thousand visitors. In peak season from may to September natural centre will be open every day from 9:30 to 17:00, the rest of the time until 15:00. For visitors under 18 and preferential categories of guests the ticket price is 2.5 euros, an adult ticket costs 7 euros.
