Most of the historic district of the city of Chania was formed around the port, which was built by the Venetians in the XIV century. There are several theaters and attractions: Archaeological Museum of Chania and a collection of artifacts of the Minoan and Roman periods, gathered in a former convent of St. Francis. Barrister especially like the Museum of Printing. Here you can enjoy traditional Cretan snacks such as spicy kukuvagiey (gr. Κουκουβάγια, owl): a sandwich with tomato, local cheese, olives and dried herbs.
