Paraty, named for a local swamp fish, located at the foot of the mountain Bocaina on the southeast coast of Brazil, about 201 km south of Rio. The pedestrian center of this small colonial town is a national historic monument with many well-preserved old buildings. Book a boat trip around the bay: visit the nearby islands and coves. Look at the sugar cane plantations, or go on a journey through the forest Atlantic foot or train. But be careful with the monkeys roaming through the cobbled streets.
