Philipsburg, Sint Maarten

Philipsburg - the capital of the Dutch part of the island of St. Martin (Saint Martin) on the Caribbean archipelago. The island is divided into two parts: the French territory is called Sep-Martin. Those who dream of a bargain, are flocking to the stores of goods not subject to duties and taxes. In Philipsburg, these shops constitute a shopping area with a total length of about two kilometers. Tourists can also visit the art galleries, historic forts, casinos and zoo, or go to the beach in Great Bay, and walk along its boulevard. On the pier 12 Metre Challenge guests have the opportunity to go to sea and feel part of the team one of five boats that participated in the America's Cup in 1987.
